Thanks again. I removed the -n and it resulted in output without the
extra line feeds also. But it's too late, as since I thought I had it
right before, I had already mailed out the previously modified file to
my Windows people. I guess I can still send out an amended email with
the new version attached 'though.

Whenever I get ambitious enough to reinstall Windows XP on my seriously
infected Windows side of this dual boot machine, I'll give both versions
of the output a test just to satisfy myself as to their differences. I'm
not in much of a hurry, as Ubuntu is still working great, and I'm not
anxious to go through the process of setting up all of the extra
programs needed by Windows, only to once again have ineffective
protection from getting infected. 8-)

At least getting infected taught me to never again respond to spam. The
one time I allowed myself to be enticed by a spam email, into earning
money by taking online surveys, they turned out to be serving trojans
with the surveys! Windows Live One Care from Microsoft didn't detect a
thing, and I didn't discover my mistake until I scanned the Windows
drive with clamav from within Ubuntu.

But now I've strayed way too far off topic, so I'll shut up and send this.

Later, Ray Parrish
