how to show only dvd or cd icons on desktop

Well if I put a cd or dvd in my drive on Hardy it shows a symbol of
what's on the disk on the Desktop. Hard to see if you have a lot on your
Desktop as I do.
Even a blank cd writes a symbol to the Desktop. If not sure I push
the button that opens the drive.
