memory question

I noticed the same thing on my Dell Inspiron 1525 and I knew my video 
card could support over 300mb of VRAM.  So, I wrote on Dell's forum and 
got an answer from one of their techs.  The 8mb is the minimum.  I don't 
know about your model, but mine haves the newer Intel video card and on 
Ubuntu it uses up 256MB RAM and on Vista it uses what is needed down to 
that 8MB.  It is not changeable.
