Cannot copy files with Konqueror, nor via CLI the 'usual way'.

Thank you Nils, you are correct. The original file name had a colon :
character, which I just confirmed is illegal in FAT. I have therefore
filed this upstream bug:
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=179339
