Problem with installation

Hi. I just downloaded and recorderd Ubuntu. I tried to install it into a Pentium 4, 1.7 GHz, with 128 MB RAM.

I boot form the CD, select my language, and select the Normal Install option. It starts loading, until the cursor (with the shape of an X) appears and a desktop is visible, but nothing happends then. Eventually, the PC crashes and I have to reboot the computer. By the time this happends, the CD reader has stopped working, and there's no visible sign the PC is working.

I have tried changing the language, the Graphic Safe Mode, and the same.

Any help will be apreciated.

Thanks in advance,

(This is my first time with Ubuntu, though not my first time with Linux)
