avahi is killing my network connection from time to time

Not an avahi expert by any means, but I would think that avahi just
reacts to the IP being lost. I would focus on the first part of your
question, "why does my computer loose the "real" IP?"

Could you please deactivate Avahi by editing /etc/default/avahi-daemon
and rebooting? Then see if you still lose the IP
