avahi is killing my network connection from time to time

Hi,
I am using 8.10 on my laptop. When I plug in the cable of the network only
after system boot I have reproducably problems with my network connection. I
dies all 10 minutes.
During an outage I find the following entries in syslog:
Feb 20 10:11:36 mucnb004 avahi-daemon[4803]: Withdrawing address record for
192.168.188.49 on eth0.

Anybody seen this problem? Any solution? Thanks for any help.
