Firefox lock file?

Well Jan, that is one of the first things I tried. Anything that looked
like it could be lock file of any sort I immediately deleted, but it
didn't work. What did finally work, was Smoot's suggestion to rename the
profiles.ini file, after which Firefox began working again.
Thanks for the suggestion 'though.
