I can attest to the "betterness" of the text installer.  A couple of
weeks ago I downloaded the dvds and tried twice to install over
Vista, using the graphical installer.  I didn't like the results at
all. Then I tried the text installer which worked like a charm.  This
was on a new laptop, HP G70-246US.
