Trying to install  glGo on 64-bit Ubuntu 8.04.

Get this failure when running:
$ glGo
glGo: error while loading shared libraries: libSDL_image-1.2.so.0: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

Yet file is present:
$ ls  -alt  /usr/lib/libSDL_image-1.2.so.0
lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 25 2009-02-03 13:40 /usr/lib/libSDL_image-1.2.so.0 -> libSDL_image-1.2.so.0.1.5

Any suggestions for resolution?

The same problem without a solution is described at
http://linux.derkeiler.com/Mailing-Lists/Ubuntu/2008-12/msg02686.html
https://lists.ubuntu.com/archives/ubuntu-users/2008-December/170217.html

http://osdir.com/ml/ubuntu-users/2008-12/msg02685.html
suggests using qGo.
Installed gGo with synaptic package manager.
Where was it installed, i.e., how do I start it?
