Another reason to prefer a real root over sudo

I'm slightly surprised someone who has "been using and
administering Unix boxes for much longer than Ubuntu has existed" had  
to ask this ...

No, it starts a second X session on DISPLAY :1 (Basically exactly what  
my suggestion of user switching does at a lower level).
