So I expect it may be a rare model or shown under a different name.

If you post the output of lsusb then we might be able to help you
better. If the camera does not show up in lsusb it probably will not
work.

If it does, then lsmod | grep video should show the module the kernel
is using (or trying to use) to drive it. It may be the wrong driver
(as in my case) or there may be no entry, indicating that the device
was not automagically recognized by the kernel.
