Thread Hijack to a nearby location

I've been trying to find something that will play the media stream in
Linux. I got my ps3 to connect to the Java PS3 media server running on
Ubuntu 9.10. I would like for all machines in the house to connect to
that same server. I am sure I just need to setup a second streaming
app for non ps3 machine's, I just have not worked out which one yet.
Most of my media is vob files created via DVDshrink.

any ideas?
