Then I'd definitely go with Turboprint; the lastest versions provide
full monitoring of ink levels, ink balance, ink control etc. The cost of
Turboprint is well offset by the cost of ink saved.
Further, my MP750 is actually in the foomatic database now; works for
the most part... until you go to print labels or some other critical
alignment job. Wasted a bunch of labels & ink until I realized that I
was using the standard driver.[1] Switched the driver back to Turboprint
and everything aligned perfectly. The standard driver also doesn't
provide the added ink control etc.

One other bit of advise; create multiple printers using the same
printer. Set the default to black & white MP190BW, set up another (using
the same printer of course) as MP190Color, MP190Photo, another as
MP190Duplex etc. That way you open your app, print to the most
appropriate for the job. You can of course 'tweak' the settings in the
particular printer for the print job if need be.

[1] Yes I also report bugs for the standard driver as I think it
important to keep improving the standard foomatic drivers.
