how to find wireless networks?

If you click the Network Manager Icon in the tray (right next to the
clock... it looks like an empty wireless indicator, or a disconnected
wire if you're not connected to a network) you will be presented with a
flyout menu showing all available networks (wired and wireless). Click
one to connect to it.
