Folks:

> ddrescue /dev/sda1 /mnt/sdb1/recovered_ext3.img

When trying to recover from a disk failure, ddrescue (or dd) is the way 
to go to ensure you get the most data possible off the drive.  ddrescue 
takes a third parameter, a log file.  It'd be wise to use it so you know 
how things went.
