that already happened for me when 9.04 came out.  intel graphics support
took a hit and i saw painfully reduced performance.  this was only
remedied about a month ago.  in 9.10 the release notes indicate
encrypted partitions are no longer bootable (might be fixed by now).
the "push a release every 6 months no matter what" is the cause of this,
and is not consistent with a stable release schedule.
