i cant start ubuntu software center

try running it from the command-line ("Applications > Accessories >
Terminal" then type "software-center" and hit enter) and returning the
output when USC fails to launch, to determine if it's a bug, or if it's
easily fixable, or if something else entirely is wrong.

In the mean time, if you want a graphical package manager, try Synaptic
(System > Administration > Synaptic Package Manager) out. it's a little
more advanced, but all the same software is there, and it's easily
search-able.
