Has anyone got Open Office to access a remote mysql database?

Yes, it at least clarifies the confusing "Server URL" field somewhat,
and it points out that you need to open up the mySql server so that
remote connections are allowed (although it does that wrong for ubuntu
9.10, it's a little out of date). It's also a little light on getting
the Java CLASSPATH set up correctly for the connector.

All in all it's a bit of a can of worms though it *does* all work when
you get everything right.
