You need to hang out on the CentOS list more - what a pleasant place to be :-)

If it is in the CentOS RPMs, it is on topic. Period.

But WATCH OUT if you ask a question about building the latest version
of anything :-P (made that mistake with Apache)

Actually I find this list mostly very pleasant and helpful. But I
do think they could learn a few things from CentOS about the true
meaning of "Enterprise Grade". i.e. the customer - or in this case
user - is ALWAYS right.

As my wife is known to say "You catch more flies with honey than vinegar" :-P

Anyway, thanks to everyone for all the help I've gotten so far. I try
to contribute where I can, too. Though my experience is in the Red
Hat domain so I can only really answer questions that are
cross-platform generic Linux. Been really enjoying Ubuntu on the
desktop so far though, even with the quirks. I like it more than
FC11 on my desk at work. And I'm finally figuring out a bit of this
apt and dpkg business :-)
