judging from this page I found on the computer:

You're probably right...it just needs drivers for your video card.

     1. To get these, go to "System > Administration > Hardware
Drivers". Enter your password when prompted
     2. From the list in the Hardware Drivers dialog, select your video
card driver (it will probably have the word 'nVidia' in it, and
there's usually only 1 choice. if there are multiple versions
available, pick whichever one says 'recommended').
     3. After selecting your driver, click the 'Activate' button. This
will set the tool off to downloading/installing/setting up your
driver. It will notify you when it's done, and will request that
        you restart your computer.
     4. After bringing the computer back up, your resolution might have
been changed to something lower than what you had before. Use
the Display tool under "System > Preferences > Display" to reset
        the resolution.
     5. If upon opening the 'display' tool, it gives you an error
message about 'not supporting all features' or somesuch, just
pick the option to 'use vendor tool'. The method of changing
screen resolution should be obvious (usually under 'screens' or
'resolution' i believe... I use ATI myself, so I can't remember
        for sure)

Hope that helps!
