Grub and Multi-disk systems

I just built a system. It has 2 x IDE disks and 1 x SATA disk. I am
going to load Solaris 10 X86, 2 different Red Hat ES 4, and Ubuntu 9.
I read on various sites that I need to install the Solaris OS first,
and it's version of Grub has to be the one used, because other Grub
verions can't deal with the Solaris VTOC. My question is, does the
BIOS boot order matter? Do I have to have the Solaris disk be the
first boot disk?

Thanks in advance.

Andrew
