strange ram data in ubuntu-server

unlikely

possible, but I'd say also unlikely

How much of it is being used as cache?  it looks like you got those
totals from top, so then next entry is cache...which should also be
taken into account.

when in top, hit "shift+>" to change the sort column to RAM, highest
usage first. This will tell you if there is a process someplace that is
actually taking up this memory.
