run:

	ls /usr/lib/apt/methods/

which should yield similar to:

froller at metis:~$ ls /usr/lib/apt/methods/
bzip2  cdrom  copy  file  ftp  gpgv  gzip  http  https  lzma  mirror
rred  rsh  ssh

It should not appear here (hence the error) and from what I have googled
it seems to control http proxy interaction for apt (the program).  I
have not used a proxy so am not familiar.
