This is usually caused by a failed burn. When you boot the liveCD,
choose the 'check disk for errors' option, and let it go. If this fails,
then the disk was burned w/ errors, and you will have to re-burn.
When you re-burn the disk, burn it with the lowest possible speed. This
reduces the chances of burn errors, and will actually create a
longer-lasting disk that is more resilient to minor scratches, etc.
Come to think of it, I think I've also seen similar behavior on a system
w/ failing RAM. If you can, I'd recommend getting an ISO of memtest86+,
burning it, and testing your memory as well.
