Print Help - HP LaserJet 4Plus- Error message: W2 invalid pers

Hi there,
   I am just a beginner on Ubuntu UE 2.3 - ran into the HP LaserJet 4Plus- Error message: W2 invalid pers.

Tried to install hplip-3.9.8.run - but once I got the HP printer setup wizard GUI - they do not support LPT (Parallel port). However, I am connecting via LPT (Parallel) port.

Any help much appreciated,
