I have the same issue[1] with 8.10 and XP inside the VM.  I also
auto-login to XP, so maybe you're on to something there.  I never
figured out what was going on, so I'm watching this thread closely ;)

[1] I have to RCTRL-F twice to get full screen in the guest.
