an rsync question

The above says that rsync was unable to perform a certain operation on  
the backup volume.

What are the file systems on the original and backup volumes (ext3,  
NTFS, fat32 etc.) ?

My guess is rsync is unable to copy a certain file attribute from the  
original to the backup, since the backup volume does not support it.
