Best cheap laptop for linux?

if you have a way to install ubuntu, a netbook will fit most of your
parameters. i run a herd of eeepc's ubuntu runs fine. you either need
a usb cd drive, or a  way toburn a flash drive to do the install. i
would recommend you up the ram to 2GB, too.
