Access to Linux (ext3) & Windows (FAT32) partitions (from Ubuntu 9.04)

That's a good point, I meant to mention that but forgot. Both fdisk &
its kin and mount require sudo, so I tend to do

sudo -s

and then work in a root shell for a while. Close it after use, though!

FWIW, I tend to use sfdisk for listing partitions:

sudo sfdisk -l

Bare fdisk for manipulating them, or cfdisk for people who are happier
with menus than command lines - but these days, there's gparted for
that.
