Well, it's what you are used to - learning new ways of doing things is
never as easy as just adding new knowledge on top of what you already
know. In addition, Linux is so flexible that all the options can be
pretty overwhelming.
Note that the ubuntu-desktop stuff will give you a local GUI, not a
web access panel - that's what the webmin install is for.
