flash stopped working after update?!

OK: I set up a 32-bit virtual machine, did a clean install of Jaunty -
no flash.

Did a full apt-get update; apt-get upgrade, pulled down 134Mb of
updates. Still no flash.

Installed flashplugin-nonfree - everything works.

Ergo, the problem is either with 64-bit flashplugin-nonfree, or
something changed in my system that has somehow stopped the plugin
working for me.

Ideas welcome.

I think I might save my bookmarks and reinstall firefox completely. I
hate doing that - it reminds me of the bad old Windows way :-(

Regards, K.
