boot from USB on Shuttle

I finally figured it out. I was actually in the process of writing a
response detailing what
I was doing when I finally got it done.
I unplugged my sata drive to see if the cd was working. I totally
forgot the thumb was in
the rear and the machine started right up on the thumb drive. I
unplugged the thumb drive
and plugged back in the sata drive and went into the bios. The order
of hard drives (not
the boot order) had changed to reflect the thumb drive first. So, with
that I was able to
access livecd and right now Im in the process of creating the partitions again.
>From what I could see, the cd and thumb drive, even if they are above
the hd in the boot
order, do not even get touched before the installed os starts.
But now that I have discovered how to get it all to work - Im making
more progress.
Thanks everyone for your help :D
