cant create bootable cd

I just got back from the store. Purchased some new cds and burned them
on my xp machine.
Put the cd in my computer and the computer doesnt even see the cd or
the thumb drive.
Thanks Karl for the k3b suggestion. Im installing it now.
Ill start a new thread for the rest of this problem as its now different.
