squid not starting

As always, look into the logs.  I'm unsure where they are in
Ubuntu, my proxy box runs Debian lenny.

% ssh proxy sudo ls -l /var/log/squid\*

-rw-r----- 1 proxy proxy 334419 Aug  8 00:33 store.log
-rw-r----- 1 proxy proxy 330944 Aug  7 06:24 store.log.1
-rw-r----- 1 proxy proxy  75061 Aug  6 06:26 store.log.2.gz

you might find an error.log, I'm not sure about this either.
