I use 'Sound Converter' for all my audio-converting needs. It converts
from/to a ton of formats, with customizable sound quality/format. Its
simple, straightforward, and available in Add/Remove. Try it out.
The only thing it doesn't do is convert DRM'ed musig to non-DRM'ed
music. If you try to load DRM'ed music with it, it will just freeze
(tried to use it to help rescue my fiance's music collection, which she
foolishly ripped with Windows Media Player... which then promptly locked
her out of all her music. That event sent her onto ubuntu
permenantly :) ).

no idea. Though, I suppose listening to them through Totem or Rhythmbox
will probably work just fine.

While the enthusiasm of your signature is appreciated, most people on
this list find sending HTML mail to be an unnecessary annoyance, as the
emails end up being much larger than they need to be, to convey the same
information.
If you plan to continue using this list, I would ask that you please
consider switching to sending plain ASCII text emails...either that or
grow a healthy love for flaming, as you will be the recipient of plenty
should you continue sending HTML emails (as if the other responses to
your email aren't clue enough to that fact already).
