Not sure - I do it the other way around: setting up a shared folder in
virtualbox that can be seen from inside XP.  Then copy files from XP
to the Ubuntu host.

I am not sure I understood shared folder right.  I read the Virtual Box manual and understood that the shared folder is in the Host's filesystem that could be read from inside the V-Box's Windows XP guest.  I looked for vice versa ... reading folders inside the Windows XP from the Host side.  I looked for it somewhere else in the manual, but I couldn't find it. Did I miss it?
