New to Ubuntu _ Virtual Box VM &Vhd copying/clone Need Help!

I am running Ubuntu 8.10 intrepid and Virtual box 2.20 ose with xp guest do not understand how to clone vm & vhd I tryed to research it and also used virtual box manual but do not follow how to do this if someone colud give basic step by step instruction I am a newbie to leniux and virtualization .
