I agree in principal with the updating and keeping current however I
did find that in one case
where i was tracking the usb-creator bug fix that their were two files
that did not show up when
i was doing apt-get dist-upgrade, I found out later when i got the
latest daily build i needed two other files to make the startup disk
creator work and make a successful usb-startup disk, those were
lupin-casper and ubiquity-casper, casper did make a upgrade to version
 dpkg -l |grep casper
ii casper 1.173
Run a "live" preinstalled system from read-o
ii lupin-casper 0.22
Add support for loop-mount installations to
ii ubiquity-casper 1.173
apparently those two files did not have depends on the casper
I wonder how the bug fix updates for my intel is going to come via
apt-get upgrade or apt-get dist-upgrade ?
