I know this is an old thread but I had a Toshiba Satellite laptop
that was having WiFi problems after installing Intrepid. It turned
out that there is a little button on the front lip of the laptop that
turns the WiFi adaptor on and off. After hours of time wasted with
what I thought were driver issues, it turns out that the switch was
turned off. Easy to miss. Oh well, live and learn :)
