The problem isn't the top posting. It isn't even the html.
The problem is that he doesn't exactly do what we tell him to do.

When we ask him to run two simple diagnostic commands, he chooses one of
them at random and copies it wrong. He doesn't do the other thing.

Then he asks the same questions over and over again, without waiting for
an answer, and in subthreads that are no longer relevant.

When we ask relevant questions, he doesn't answer them.
This person is really clueless - not about Linux, but clueless about
social interactions. I'm not a psychologist, so I can't put a label on
what the problem is. It is beyond the scope of this mailing list.
