missing hard drive space

I am checking and repairing hopefully on gparted............
what does it mean when it says 1 drive has 300 gig unallocated space?
I must have 4 drives, 1000 gigs I mean sorry

This does not apply to Linux and fwiw to any modern operating systems
like Win from Win2K on. After successfully starting, they take over the
harddisk management from the Bios.
So either your OS will have an inbuilt disksize limit or it will work.;-)'
-please explain as they worked in windows so should be enabled!!
