(re)install gparted (or another partition editor) and look what 
partitions are in use, and grow or add partitions to fully use the disk.

oh, wait... first take a look at your bios. it may need an update to 
recognize the newest disks.
Also, this disk can have severe bad sectors (almost dead!). Is SMART 
enabled?
