Glad you went [OT].

No worries for HAL and his really sloooow remarks (8080 CPU?), he was
switched on again in 2010. As for Dave, he wasn't so lucky...

For me 2001 was an acid trip, I remember that after the movie, I went
to bar with a friend and spent long hours, almost till dawn, drinking
and discussing the director's intentions and the real meaning of it
all. As HAL would say: "It can only be attributable to human error".
It took at least a decade to find out that the damned projectionist
had cut at least 15 minutes out of the movie, turning it on an Ingmar
Bergman's  style enigma. Really unforgettable...

As for PC beeps, mine also beeps goodbye and I guess I never cared.
