VLC 0.9.4 on Ubuntu 8.10

I found the solution in fact the file path for the dest file had a 
accented char (/home/me/Vidéo/file.avi) but with a normal path name as 
/home/me/Video/file.avi no problems. I don't have this problem with the 
previous version.
