    It is hard to describe what you see. If you right click the the two 
computers in the upper margin near the right side, and your wifi is 
working, you will see a panel showing your wifi source or sources. If 
you see nothing like this, then you need to start from scratch to either 
fix the kernel or even more drastic measures.

    Tell us which one you see please :-)
