New to linux/unbuntu need help screen res set too high cant log in!

Try starting in graphic safe mode. The option is on the grub menu that
you can get pressing esc in 1st boot screen. You will be able to log
in and edit the x config file.

NOTE: Is Ubuntu not uNbuntu.
