3GiB ram, gnome-system-monitor now says 2.9GiB

I think that someone made a spelling mistake somewhere.
kB / MB / GB = 10^3^1 / 10^3^2 / 10^3^3
KiB / MiB / GiB = 2^10^1 / 2^10^2 / 2^10^3
Without the i = standard SI prefixes, factor 1000.
With the i = binary prefixes, factor 1024.
Also notice the small k in kB but capital K in KiB.
