Best Backup software for Ubuntu 8.10

There's a package called cdtar that you might find useful. It creates  
a multi-volume tar file on cdrom or dvdrom. All the work is done by  
bash scripts but it has a graphical front end based on tcl

theres also sbackup in ubuntu repository
