printers for UBUNTU?

The common practice for looking for printers that are compatible with
Linux is to stir clear of the cheap models, and especially Lexmarks.
A lot of them are Host Printers, meaning the printers themselves are
just the printing mechanism while the print processing is done by the
PC rather than within the printer's electronics. Think of them as the
WinModems of the Printer world. I had a Lexmark like that and
couldn't get Linux to work with it. Many multi-function printers do
work like printers with scanners. I have an HP with a scanner built
in and it works just fine. HP and Cannon printers seem to have the
best compatibility with Linux from what I've read from several
sources. A few obscure models may also work like the Konica Minota
model I have.

Overall, unless its a cheapy low-budget printer chances are it will
work perfectly fine on Linux.
